1The project
Redcinha Bardline anthracite fence with vertical slats for a private garden in Chartres, preserving privacy and featuring a symmetrical brushed finish.
Project Context
Completed in 2026 in Chartres, within a private residence, this project aimed to enhance garden privacy while maintaining aesthetic coherence with a structured landscape design. The site features a light-colored stone block wall forming a planted area with shrubs and grasses. The choice was made to use a premium composite solution with a marked vertical appearance, to harmonize with the garden lines and provide a contemporary view from both sides of the plot.
Implemented Solution
The Redcinha® Bardline system was selected for its slatted effect and bi-directional symmetry, ensuring an identical appearance on both the neighbor's side and the garden side. The slats are made from co-extruded wood-polymer composite with a dimension of 187.2 x 19.5 mm and a length of 1295 mm (1600 mm version available on order). The natural brushed finish and the Anthracite Gray EC 102 color match the structure made of aluminum posts in the system. Key characteristics guided the specification:
- Controlled expansion of 2 mm/m for dimensional stability outdoors.
- UV treatment and weather resistance, material decay-resistant for reduced maintenance.
- Vertical slat installation only, in line with product range recommendations.
- Dedicated aluminum accessories and matching caps for finishing. The solution is covered by a 10-year warranty, meeting durability requirements for residential use.
Implementation and Result
The fence was aligned with the existing wall, featuring a succession of regular spans rhythmically punctuated by anthracite posts. The careful installation ensures the plumb of the posts and the linearity of the top edge. The visual result, composed of closely spaced vertical slats, creates a fine relief type slatted effect while preserving the desired privacy. The visible aluminum caps at the top standardize the pattern and protect the post tops.
The contrast between the anthracite of the fence and the light stone blocks of the wall highlights the planted area at the foot of the structure. The neatly trimmed spherical shrubs and the mulched grasses on a clean strip emphasize the linear continuity of the slats and provide a smooth transition between mineral and composite. The homogeneous shade and brushed texture enhance the perception of verticality without weighing down the garden's facade.
The planning of the installation included necessary allowances for 2 mm/m expansion, ensuring lasting performance. Edge finishes and the alignment of spans provide a clean look, suitable for a residential context exposed to the elements. The result offers a robust, aesthetically pleasing double-faced barrier, perfectly integrated into the existing landscape and aligned with expectations for privacy, visual comfort, and limited maintenance.
