The project

In Lille, a rigid fence is strengthened by light gray Redcinha Compoplak baseboards, with careful installation, impact resistance, and UV stability.

Project Context

In a residential area of Lille, the project involved reinforcing the base of an existing rigid fence along a grassy garden. The objective was twofold: to achieve a clean and durable support at the foot of the panels while enhancing aesthetics both from the street and the garden side. The existing concrete borders were retained as a support line to stabilize the overall structure and limit the rise of soil, debris, and small plants beneath the fence.

Implemented Solution

The choice fell on the Redcinha® Compoplak composite baseboard, a significantly lighter and faster-to-handle alternative to concrete for installers. Its wood-polymer composite with a brushed effect and double-sided design offers a uniform finish that matches the black rigid fencing. The light gray color visible along the length integrates naturally with the grass and existing landscaping.

Main characteristics selected for this project:

  • 5x lighter than a concrete baseboard, facilitating handling and installation (element weighs 13.8 kg)
  • Included reinforcement tube, ensuring the mechanical stability of the panels
  • Proven durability: anti-UV material, frost and hail resistant, rot-proof
  • Resistance to trimming machines and impacts at the base of the fence
  • Simplified maintenance with a high-pressure cleaner, maintaining a minimum distance of 1 m
  • 10-year warranty from the manufacturer

In terms of dimensions, the Compoplak is available in 2505 mm (post spacing Delclo® DC-Clips) or 2530 mm (post spacing Delclo® DC70 with notches), with a height of 228 mm and width of 38 mm. This compatibility with Delclo® solutions facilitates the coordination of rigid fence projects in residential environments and aligns perfectly with potential composite privacy screens from the associated range.

Execution and Result

The installation was executed in successive alignments, panel by panel, with each baseboard element set on the existing concrete border. The placement of the panels was monitored to respect the alignment of the posts and maintain consistent gaps at the junctions. The reinforcement tube was installed according to product recommendations, ensuring a straight maintenance of the baseboard over the entire span.

Visually, the whole setup presents a clear contrast between the black rigid mesh and the light gray brushed-textured base. The lines are distinct and continuous, without steps, and the connection at the base of the panel prevents the formation of gaps beneath the fence. The nearby garden area, grassy and treed, benefits from a clean plinth that limits dirt intrusion and wild grass. The trimming machine resistance allows for maintenance of the surroundings without damaging the base.

The result combines architectural clarity with functional protection of the lower fence: the structure gains rigidity in contact with the ground, the base withstands impacts and weather aggressions, and the whole maintains a homogeneous aesthetic viewed from both the street and the property. This achievement illustrates the value of the Redcinha® Compoplak composite baseboard in securing rigid fences while managing installation time and subsequent maintenance.
