Composite Base on Rigid Fencing Lille

Summary

In a residential neighborhood of Lille, an existing rigid fence was reinforced at its base with a Redcinha® COMPOPLAK composite base. The objective was to close the bottom, protect the lower sections of the panels, and ensure a straight line. The lightweight nature of the composite facilitated handling and installation. The contrast between black panels and light gray base provides a clear property boundary.

Context

Residential site with a grassed garden and an existing rigid fence. The concrete curb by the road was retained and used as a lower support. The visible panel features typical reinforcement folds of black welded fencing, consistent with residential use.

Objective

• Reinforce the fence base to limit the intrusion of debris and the growth of vegetation under the panel.

• Protect the base of the wires during mechanical lawn maintenance.

• Achieve a continuous and easy-to-maintain base line.

Solution

Installation of the light gray Redcinha® COMPOPLAK composite base under the existing rigid panels. The choice of composite is justified by its manageability and impact resistance, useful in high-traffic and maintenance areas.

• 5× lighter than a concrete base: simplified handling and faster installation.

• Double-sided brushed finish, light gray, for subtle integration into the garden.

• Resistance to common impacts at the base of the fence: string trimmers and shocks.

Implementation & Result

The base boards were positioned in alignment with the spans, with level checks at each panel. The support on the existing concrete curb contributed to the overall stability and visual regularity. The connection between the composite base and the black rigid fencing is clean, with no unwanted gaps, and the brushed texture is uniform along its length.

Observed effects on site: the closed base limits the intrusion of dirt and regrowth under the fence, while protecting the base wires during edging cuts. The property boundary is clearer, and continuity is ensured from one span to another.
