The project

In Lille, a rigid fence is reinforced by light grey Redcinha Compoplak bases, ensuring careful installation, impact resistance, and UV protection.

Project Context

In a residential area of Lille, the project involved reinforcing the base of an existing rigid fence along a grassed garden. The dual objective was to provide a clean and durable footing for the panels while enhancing the aesthetics both on the street side and the garden side. The concrete borders present on the site were retained as a support line to stabilize the entire structure and limit the rise of earth, debris, and small plants under the fence.

Solution Implemented

The choice was made to use Redcinha® Compoplak composite base, a significantly lighter and faster-to-handle alternative to concrete for installers. Its wood-polymer composite with a brushed effect and double-sided design offers a uniform finish that matches the black rigid fencing. The light grey shade visible along the length fits naturally with the grass and existing landscaping.

Key features selected for this project include:

  • 5x lighter than a concrete base, facilitating handling and installation (element weighing 13.8 kg)
  • Reinforcement tube included, ensuring the mechanical stability of the panels
  • Proven durability: UV-resistant, frost and hail resistant, rot-proof
  • Trimmer resistance and impact resistance at the base of the fence
  • Simplified maintenance with a pressure washer, maintaining a minimum distance of 1 m
  • 10-year warranty from the manufacturer

Dimensionally, the Compoplak is available in 2505 mm (post spacing Delclo® DC-Clips) or 2530 mm (post spacing Delclo® DC70 with notches), with a height of 228 mm and a width of 38 mm. This compatibility with Delclo® solutions facilitates coordination of rigid fence projects in residential environments and integrates seamlessly with potential associated composite privacy screens.

Execution and Result

Installation was conducted in successive alignments, panel by panel, with each base element adjusted against the existing concrete border. The placement of the panels was monitored to ensure it adhered to the posts' axis and maintained consistent gaps at the joints. The reinforcement tube was installed in accordance with product recommendations, ensuring a straight alignment of the base throughout the span.

Visually, the assembly presents a sharp contrast between the black rigid mesh and the light grey brushed-texture base. The lines are clear and continuous, without any elevation changes, and the bottom junction prevents the formation of gaps under the fence. The garden's close environment, grassed and planted, benefits from a clean plinth that limits dirt and weeds intrusions. The trimmer resistance allows for maintenance of the surroundings without damaging the base.

The outcome combines architectural clarity and functional protection at the fence bottom: the structure gains rigidity in contact with the ground, the base withstands impacts and climatic stress, and the overall design maintains a uniform appearance from both the street and the property. This project illustrates the advantages of the Redcinha® Compoplak composite base for securing rigid fences while managing installation time and future maintenance.
