Redcinha Bardline open fence in Lyon, alternating anthracite and light oak, precise installation and flawless finishes in a garden
Project Context
Executed in 2026 in Lyon, this intervention was entrusted by a landscape architect to enhance and protect a residential garden. The program combined privacy, visual continuity, and compatibility with a demanding mineral and plant arrangement. The goals focused on a durable fence with a controlled aesthetic on both sides, and a vertical rhythm capable of accompanying structured flower beds.
Implemented Solution
The choice fell on the Bardline fence from Redcinha®, a co-extruded wood composite with an open fence effect. The solution offers bi-faced slats installed vertically for an identical rendering on both sides, supported by aluminum posts.
Key features leveraged:
- Slat section: 187.2 x 19.5 mm
- Slat length: 1295 mm (possibility of 1600 mm on order)
- Controlled expansion: 2 mm/m
- UV treatment, weather resistance, 10-year guarantee
- Aluminum accessories ensuring continuity and rigidity
Two colors were selected according to the areas, in coherence with the mineral and plant landscape: a charcoal gray for clean and contemporary lines, and a light oak with black grooves for a warmer tone. The system was assembled in accordance with Redcinha® recommendations: post-slat connection profiles and finishing profiles ensure the hold, flatness, and cleanliness of the visible edges.
This technical choice met several professional expectations:
- Relevant bi-faced symmetry for a property boundary
- Vertical rhythm enhancing alignments and perspectives of the garden
- Minimal maintenance and dimensional stability over time
Execution and Result
The installation was carried out in regular sections, with a constant spacing and a perfectly aligned high edge. The cuts are clean and protected by matching caps. The base integrates into a stable mineral support, ensuring the alignment of the bottom of the panel along the entire length.
Three configurations follow to respond to usage and terrain reading:
- Charcoal sequence: vertical slats tightly spaced for a discreet open fence effect, line a bed of light gravel planted with small conifers, lavender, and graphic plants. The contrast highlights the simplicity of the panels and the precision of the alignments.
- Light oak sequence with black grooves: warm-toned sections interact with aligned shrubs on beige mineral mulch. The contrast of the grooves emphasizes verticality and creates a more inviting atmosphere.
- Variation with visible aluminum posts: the post-slat alternation structures a border of Mediterranean plants, including lavender, agave, and small olive trees, at the edge of a dense lawn. The rhythm of the profiles showcases the landscape composition.
The whole forms a continuous line, without visual interruption, where every detail – squaring of sections, regularity of patterns, finish of profiles – contributes to a clean and professional reading. The open fence provides a sense of lightness while preserving privacy, and the bi-faced guarantees an elegant look on both the garden and neighbor's side. The performance of the Redcinha® composite – low expansion, rot resistance, UV treatment – ensures the expected aesthetic and mechanical durability on an urban site exposed to climatic variations.
